Ia orana Kakou,
Tahiti what an island ! I have been here three months now and everyday is a true gift of happiness . This time of the year is considered the rainy season and the worst time of the year. The rain will pour down then the sun will shine the next second, the weather is very tropical and has a powerful feeling that comes along with it . The waves seem to keep on breaking as there has been something to ride everyday, sometimes it will be perfect other times fun, and of course other times sketchy and scary . The ocean is the life here “Moana Ora” one road goes around the island along the shore, there is hardly any night life here and everyone one just loves the beach and enjoys past time in the ocean .
I have been learning French little by little which is by far the hardest thing I have ever done . I’m sure my daughter will be teaching me words when she gets older even though she is only 2 months old ! Having a keiki is the best thing that has happen to me and she is really changing my life . I see things differently and accept challenges and other situations with an open mind . The locals are super super cool and patient here .
As for bodyboarding I have been checking out new waves and learning which spots work best on what directions, thanks to David Tuara, Eric Schintzler, Julien Miermont, and many other local bosyboarders .
Back home on Maui Chris Won Taloa recently brought his DKwars contest to the Valley isle . The event was a huge success, live broadcast, a big showing, and a whole bunch of aloha was in full affect . It was a tough one to miss but I am very proud of what was done for Maui and the sport of Bodyboarding. Check out their facebook page and story about Maui’s DKwars here : https://www.facebook.com/dropkneewars .
Also check out Hawaiis’ newest bodyboard movemnet “Triad” there’s a cool blog here : http://triadmovement.wordpress.com/ they also have a page on facebook here : https://www.facebook.com/TriadMovement . I can’t wait to test out these crafts of perfection a lot of the feedback has been great and the boards are looking solid .
This Saturday there is the annual Tahiti Bodyboard Festival and the forecast looks good with light winds and a lot of swell coming from the NW out of Hawai’i . We will be shooting and taking photos to share so stay tuned here for more TAHITI LIFE .
Aloha & Ia orana time to get a little practice session in . It’s a beautiful day on Tahiti and I hope your day is beautiful as well .
